Biases
In its strictest sense, a tree structure is
the hierarchical organization of information, whose representation resembles a tree and its branches.
It develops around a point, an idea, or a concept, and then grows, develops, and divides, like roots. Despite this division, each element remains connected by invisible links and nodes.
A tree structure can also be perceived as a succession or accumulation of interconnected things.
The Gobelins Manufactory has always maintained its values while evolving and growing.
We can then separate the concept of a tree structure into three principles.
It all begins underground, with the root system, then above ground the trunk and branches develop, which we will call the unfolding.
And finally, in order to protect itself, the tree structure
ends with the foliage, which we will define as
the envelope.
The large materials library is a project completed as part of a competition organized by the Mobilier National (National Furniture Collection). This project was carried out in pairs, and we were fortunate enough to be selected for the next stage of the competition.
